Gentle support for your health and wellbeing through Complementary Therapy.
Hello I’m Dawn.. Welcome to The Rest Nest..
I am a Complementary Therapist based in Tonbridge, offering Reflexology and Indian Head Massage for women. Working from a dedicated space, my garden room provides a quiet and cosy haven for you to relax and unwind. All treatments are tailored to your needs and work holistically to help reduce stress, alleviate pain and leave you feeling calm and more balanced..
Natural approaches to wellbeing have always resonated with me and back in 2000 my interest led to studying with Joyce West at Essential Care Training in Surrey. I gained diplomas for Indian Head Massage and Reflexology Practitioner, then began working as a mobile therapist.
Along the way my career path led to other meaningful roles within Health and Social Care and I later qualified as an Occupational Therapist, where I spent several years
working in NHS acute care services.
However, my return to Reflexology was inspired by my own experience, after receiving a course of treatment for work-related stress. I found the sessions to be truly restorative, from dissolving chronic physical tension to calming my anxiety. It inspired me to return to practice with a renewed purpose and desire to help other women.
Building on a foundation of level 3 training, I have completed further specialist courses in Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD), Face Reflexology Clooney Concept (FRCC) and Supine Indian Head Massage. I am committed to learning and growing my skillset and currently am studying Reflexology for Menopause.
So if you're looking for support with a particular health issue or just need some time out for relaxation, please do get in touch.
I look forward to helping you..

Reflexology is a holistic therapy, based on the theory that the feet, hands, face, and ears serve as maps of the body. By stimulating reflex points on these areas we can support the health of related organs, glands, and systems. The Reflexologist can encourage the body’s energy to flow and rebalance, working areas that feel congested. This therapy promotes deep relaxation and helps to activate the body’s own healing processes.
Reflexology is believed to have roots in ancient China, Egypt and India. But In the early 1900s, American physician Dr William Fitzgerald introduced Zone Therapy — his theory, that different areas of the body were interconnected through zones, and that by stimulating a point on the hand or foot, it could effect a response elsewhere in the body.
His work laid the foundation for modern Reflexology and was continued by colleague Eunice Ingham, who created the first detailed western foot chart plotting all of the reflex points. Reflexology has continued to evolve over time, with the development of ear and facial mapping, and the introduction of new and innovative techniques that continue to support our health in a safe and gentle way.
Face Reflexology – Clooney Concept (FRCC)
Created by Reflexologist Catherine Clooney, this unique form of facial body mapping blends traditional eastern acupressure points with western reflexology zones.
Just like the feet, the face holds reflex points that correspond to different organs and systems within the body. FRCC helps to rebalance your body by applying specific, but gentle pressure to those corresponding areas on the face. This is a soothing, slow and rhythmical treatment, that promotes deep relaxation, supports healthy circulation to the facial muscles, and often leaves the skin with a refreshed and natural glow. FRCC is also a good option for those who enjoy Reflexology but may be unable to receive foot treatments.
Please note that Reflexology does not claim to diagnose or cure but can be beneficial for those with chronic or recurring conditions. It is a complementary therapy and not a substitute for medical care.
Always consult your GP first for any urgent health concerns.

Reflexology is a wonderful way to support your general health as it works with all systems of the body. By soothing the mind, easing tension and reducing stress, it can help alleviate a wide range of common discomforts— for example; blocked sinuses, migraines, muscle tightness, poor digestion, sleep disturbances, and more.
Balance

Reflexology supports you towards feeling more balanced in life. A single session of Reflexology will leave you feeling calmer, refreshed, and can often place you in a different mindset for the rest of the day and beyond. Reflexology as a regular part of your self care can help you to manage the inevitable stress of daily life with more clarity and acceptance.

Reflexology nurtures deep relaxation within your body, helping to harmonize the breath and gently stimulate circulation. As your body relaxes, it will naturally support the release of toxins, enhancing the healing potential of this therapy. Clients often report having more restful sleep after receiving Reflexology.
From the rich healing traditions of India, with roots tracing back to around 600 BC, Indian Head Massage was originally practiced as a part of daily grooming rituals, but has evolved into a soothing complementary therapy celebrated for its calming and restorative effects.
Created by ZFL Reflexologist Ziggy Bergman, this soothing sequence is received lying down, where you remain fully clothed. No oil is used throughout.
Treatment focuses on the head, neck, face, ears and upper body and is very effective for sinus congestion, eye strain, bruxism and muscle tension. It nourishes the scalp therefore can support with hair thinning, and encourages lymph drainage. Overall this treatment promotes deep relaxation and a greater sense of wellbeing.

At your first session I will ask some questions about your health and how you are feeling, so I can focus the treatment to where you need it most.
Foot reflexology is received from a recliner chair or massage couch according to your comfort needs and you will just need to remove your shoes and socks. Some organic balm is then applied to your feet prior to treatment.
Face reflexology is received lying flat on the massage couch and you will need to be makeup free.
Some organic seed oil is applied to your face which supports the smooth rhythm of the treatment, but is also very nourishing to the skin.
Supine Indian Head Massage is received lying flat on the massage couch and no oil is used throughout.
Wearing looser clothing is advisable for your comfort. Dangly earrings and necklaces should be removed prior to Face Reflexology and
Indian Head Massage treatments.
You will be supported by pillows and covered with a blanket if needed, and I play soft music to help you relax.
At the end of the treatment I provide feedback on your session and offer you fresh water and after care advice.
I will check in on your wellbeing 24 hours after the treatment by text.

If you would like more information about the treatments I offer or would like to make a booking, please use the secure and confidential online contact form.
