Reflexology Services for Women

Supporting your Health and Wellness through Complementary Therapy.

ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Dawn, Reflexologist at The Rest Nest...

I live with my family in the lovely town of Tonbridge and provide relaxing Reflexology sessions for women from my little garden room, The Rest Nest. Natural approaches to wellbeing have always resonated with me and back in 2000 my interest led to studying holistic therapies with Joyce West at Essential Care Training. I gained diplomas for Indian Head Massage and Reflexology Practitioner, then began working as a mobile therapist.

However, my career path led to other meaningful roles within Health and Social Care and I later qualified as an Occupational Therapist. I went on to spend several years working in NHS acute care services.

Like many, I felt the weight of stress during the pandemic, but was lucky enough to receive a course of Reflexology through my employer, which became a turning point in guiding me back to this wonderful therapy. Experiencing it for myself was truly healing, from dissolving chronic physical tension to calming an anxious mind. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose and most importantly, reignited my connection to Reflexology.

Now it's my joy to support other women’s health and wellbeing through this gentle and effective therapy.

With a foundation in level 3 training, I have refreshed my skills and expanded my knowledge with further courses in Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) and Face Reflexology Clooney Concept (FRCC). I am committed to growing my skillset with regular CPD, including plans to study Reflexology for Menopause this year.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic therapy, based on the theory that the feet, hands, face, and ears serve as maps of the body. By stimulating reflex points on these areas we can support the health of related organs, glands, and systems. The Reflexologist can encourage the body’s energy to flow and rebalance, working areas that feel congested. This therapy promotes deep relaxation and helps to activate the body’s own healing processes.

Reflexology is believed to have roots in ancient China, Egypt and India. But In the early 1900s, American physician Dr William Fitzgerald introduced Zone Therapy — his theory, that different areas of the body were interconnected through zones, and that by stimulating a point on the hand or foot, could effect a response elsewhere in the body.

His work laid the foundation for modern Reflexology and was continued by colleague Eunice Ingham, who created the first detailed western foot chart plotting all of the reflex points. Reflexology has continued to evolve over time, with the development of ear and facial mapping, and the introduction of new and innovative techniques that continue to support our health in a safe and gentle way.

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is an award winning technique developed by Reflexologist Sally Kay, that stimulates the lymphatic system. Research has shown it to be helpful in reducing Lymphoedema and support other conditions associated with pain and inflammation. Face Reflexology – Clooney Concept (FRCC)

Face Reflexology using the Clooney Concept is a unique form of facial body mapping that blends traditional eastern acupressure points with western reflexology zones.

Just like the feet, the face holds reflex points that correspond to different systems and organs within the body. This gentle yet powerful treatment promotes deep relaxation whilst supporting healthy circulation to the facial muscles, often leaving the skin with a refreshed, natural glow. It’s an ideal option for those who love Reflexology but may be unable to receive foot treatments.

Please note that Reflexology does not claim to diagnose or cure but can be beneficial for those with chronic or recurring conditions. It is a complementary therapy and not a substitute for medical care.

Always consult your healthcare provider first for any urgent health concerns.

The Benefits of Reflexology

Health

Reflexology is a wonderful way to support your general health as it works with all systems of the body. By soothing the mind, easing tension and reducing stress, it can help alleviate a wide range of common discomforts— e.g. blocked sinuses, migraines, aches and pains, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, and more.

Balance

By creating a sense of calm and balance within the body, Reflexology enhances your well-being and helps to restore your energy levels — leaving you feeling refreshed, recharged, and renewed.

Relaxation

Reflexology nurtures deep relaxation within the body, helping to harmonize the breath and gently stimulate circulation. As the body relaxes, it naturally supports the release of toxins, enhancing the healing potential of the treatment.

What to expect

For foot treatments, performed on the recliner chair or couch, you will just need to take off your socks and roll up your trousers.

For face treatments, performed on the couch, makeup free skin will enable the oil to absorb and nourish more effectively.

At your first session, I will ask a few questions about your health and how you’re feeling, so I can focus the treatment to where you need it most.

I use an organic balm on the feet and an organic hypoallergenic seed oil for the face. Wearing looser clothing is advisable for your comfort.

You will be supported by pillows and covered with a blanket to keep warm and I play soft music to help you relax.

At the end of the treatment I will provide feedback on the session and offer you fresh water and after care advice.

I always check in with you 24 hours after the treatment by text.
